At that time, only I remembered about mine bottles. I quickly rush to the kitchen and turn off the fire. When I look inside the pot, this is how my bottles look. I melt all my bottles!

Then, I open all my house windows and door to release the smoke. I take a look at the clock it was 2am. I cooked the bottles for 3 hours. I called my husband because my husband friend’s grandfather passed away, so he went over to his place. I told my husband what happen and he said he is on the way home.
I am very careless and I don’t have a good memory. I tend to forget things easily. Sometimes when my husband at home, I boil the bottles he will ask me whether want to turn off the fire. At last, this is what happens. I nearly kill myself, my children and burn down the whole apartment, because of my careless mistakes. My heart beat very fast and my hands are cold when I think what had happened. I look at my children, they still sleeping so soundly. They didn’t even know what happen. If on fire, I’m the one who cause the problem.
When my husband came home, I asked him to scold me. I said I nearly kill my children and all the whole apartment people. He said “why I had to scold, things already happened. Just remember this mistake and don’t let it happen again.” This makes me guiltier. I think I will never forget this mistake and the lesson I had learned today forever!

I also have a bad memory lik you ,so I always buy alot of timeres n set it on ,so when it rings,I will know that I have not forgotten wat I was doing earlier...
regarding the gas stove,I think you should get one that will automatical off the fire when the temperture hit 250degrees..I am using that type..you know I sometimes fry fish..them went to toilet and then straight off to watch t.v forgetting my fish is still frying in the pan..so that is when my gas stove off the fire and the gas will also be automaticaly shut off too..very convenient for us the "bad memory people"..hehehe..
OMG... dun blame urself now.. things happen dy.. but i wud advise u to go get urself an electronic steamer sterilizer so dat this incident wont happen again.. it might cost a bit, but.. better than 'killing' ur whole family over boiling method... take care... hugs for ur children (n u too!).. :)
My god! What a shock when I read the incident. I'm not sure whether in M'sia got such hi-tech stove like what JLE mentioned, but at least get yourself a "timer", this could help I think so. Like Rehana, she also bought one timer to keep "trigger" herself.
Aiyoyo.... my dear... u better change to electronic water heater for safety. For stove also buy infrared for safe because when overheated it can tryp off.
don't worry much now, since u all r safe now.. i had happened once same with you too, i was boiling something in a pot, then i forgot, i went out to school to pick up the kid that i taking care. I almost burn down the house too.. from then on i will never do 2 things in the same time any more, very dangerous.
just thank God nothing bad happened.. dont feel bad.. we make mistakes all the time..

Oh dear. Be extra careful next time. Don't blame yourself. Sometimes I'm forgetful too.
Hi Jesse, glad to read you and family okay.
But such things do happen.
I have burned 6 kettles past 15 years...even three whistling ones...reason being I am slightly hearing impaired.
This due I guess to my love of target shooting with guns...have damaged my hearing slightly.
Now, we have an auto off kettle, as well I will stand around in the kitchen till kettle boils.
You stay easy and keep well, best regards, Lee.
oh dear.. it is such a shock.. then again, i've also read that our memory do fails after the birth of our children. you can take some gingko biloba to improve the situation. but if you tend to forget, just try not to use those type that continues boiling. get those that switches off like the electronic ones. i use avent microwave types for sterilising the bottles and it works so well, i have it for the past 8 yrs. it is like a big round top tupperware, lay all your baby bottles or pacifier inside. add about 200mls of water at the base of the ware and microwave for 6 minutes. when the 6 mins are up, you don't even need to check, you can sleep well. it is all sealed in the microwave ware and not in contact of any air outside till you open to use. try it.
Jesse!Thank god tht your family and you are ok!
To JLE - I also dunno here got stove like u mentioned but I knw those infared stove. Too bad my kitchen plug hv used up all. Not enuff plug for new electronics..he he he..buy too much..
To Merryn - Thanks for your suggestion, I will consider.
To Amy - I think I really need to get myself a timer
To Xiao kia - I got electric jug kettle, so whenever i want to boil water then go to bed I will use it bcos it has auto cut off.
To Kikey - Yeah....after this incident I don't dare to things in the same time.
To FAD MOM - Yes, i had heard before said that after giving birth our memory will getting worst. I will try the gingko biloba and see got improvement or not.
Thank you for all of you, I will take care myself and remember this mistake
That's really dangerous. Luckily nothing happen. Next time better don't do anything just before you are going to sleep. Do it in the next day for safety. Sometimes we just tends to forget things. Maybe you are too tired these few days? So, don't blame yourself.
Oh my god. I am a little absentminded sometimes, but luckily things like this have not happened, yet. Maybe you can get a timer/alarm. You can set the alarm so that it warns you after a certain time. It is safer that way.
